Aviation Jobs International (AJI) chooses PATTS as designated Trade Test Facility
Newly established Heavy Maintenance Singapore Services Pte Ltd (HMS Services), a joint venture between aircraft manufacturer Airbus and MRO specialists Singapore Airlines Engineering Company (SIAEC), and Singapore Aero Engine Services Private Limited (SAESL), a joint venture company between Rolls-Royce Plc and SIAEC have conducted interviews and practical skill tests for aircraft professionals in PATTS last February 22-23 and March 3-4, 2017, respectively.
Recognized as Aviation Jobs International’s newest Trade Test Facility, PATTS serves as the testing center that will evaluate the skills and knowledge of hopeful pioneer workforce of both HMS Services and SAESL. The applicants, many of which are PATTS alumni, are assessed based on their fundamental understanding and technical capabilities relevant to airframe maintenance, cabin upgrade and modification services for Airbus A380, A350 and A330 aircrafts for HMS Services and engine overhaul and component repair services for SAESL.
HMS Services will combine SIAEC’s extensive maintenance experience with Airbus’ technical expertise as an airframe original equipment manufacturer (OEM) in pursuit of their objective in becoming the Centre of Excellence for Airbus A380 and A350 heavy maintenance within the Asia-Pacific region. On the other hand, SAESL is a Trent Centre of Excellence committed to impart its expertise in providing the best in class aero engine and component repair services for the successful Rolls-Royce Trent engine family.
Representatives and top officials of HMS Services and SAESL have paid a visit to the campus along with AJI delegates Mr. Justin Ngien and Ms. Elizabeth Au in order to ensure the quality of modern facilities and equipments PATTS is known for.
“Being selected as a trade test facility is a privilege for our school. It gives our graduates an opportunity for a position in a new Southeast Asian MRO facility with the highest potential,” remarked Engr. Lorenzo D.L. Naval Jr., VP for Academic Affairs during an interview.
